CAPE Team
The CAPE team members work across the Schools, projects and in staff development activities. They also belong to the specialist teams described below.

Academic Development Team


The academic development team advise programme teams in all aspects of curriculum design, working collaboratively with colleagues to take creative approaches to programme and module development. The team work in partnership with Schools to coordinate, deliver and evaluate effective academic provision, providing guidance and practical assistance in curriculum design, assessment and feedback practices and embedding learning technologies appropriately, to enhance the student learning experience. Members of the team participate in evaluation of initiatives, adopt a scholarly, evidence-based approach to their role and share best practice across the University. Distance Education Team


The distance education team consult with and support programme teams who are developing and teaching online distance education programmes, providing guidance on instructional design and best practice in terms of distance education pedagogy and supporting students online. The close collaboration with the teaching teams, administrators and library services fosters a team approach and builds a collective body of knowledge and expertise. This provides a basis for standards which are shared across programmes and schools and ensures that distance learners experience an accessible, stimulating and well-supported online learning environment. Educational Technology Team


The educational technology team work across the University to provide advice and guidance on the effective use of technology-enhanced learning tools to support the curriculum and enhance the students’ learning experience. They manage the technical and pedagogic aspects of the University's centrally supported educational technologies, including My Learning and, in collaboration with Schools, evaluate the University’s technology offering. They also provide recommendations on suitability and viability to ensure that the University’s educational technologies meet the needs of the academic and student community. Read more
